I've been sticking with Alternate Player for Twitch for some time now just so I don't need to keep changing settings every time Twitch changes something on their end, & it seems to do okay. Hides pre-roll with a black screen & pauses stream when there's a mid-roll.

Twitch probably found a way around it and that's why you are now getting ads.
